Transforming Lives in Nepal
March 10 - 23, 2012

The Nepal Women's Health program is an exciting development for Sydney Adventist Hospital's HealthCare Outreach. Teams have been going to Nepal since 1994, and the Women's Health focus was added in 2010 as part of the Reconstructive program.

As the Women's Health project expanded, it was necessary to establish itself as an separate project to allow for further growth. The team of 20 volunteers have all donated their time and expertise to help Nepali's that cannot access healthcare that we take for granted.

Uterine Prolapse is a major health issue for women in Nepal. Poorly spaced preganancy, returning to work too soon are just some of the reasons why 600,000 Nepali women suffer with this debilitating and humiliating condition.

The cost to completely transform a women's life with surgery is only $300! With your support, the project is aiming to change the lives of up to 80 Nepali women during the visit.  The patient bears no cost, with their total care paid from funds raised by the team.

With no government funding currently available for the Nepal visit, we rely on the support of civic minded individuals and companies to support the work.
